Behind the lens
Birth and profession
Born in July 1980 in Germanys Ruhr Area, Sven Seiler grew up in Oberhausen until his tenth year of age. With ten he moved with his family to the Lower Rhine Area where he spent his adolescent life in Xanten-Vynen. In 2002 he went again to the Ruhr Area and started his studies in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Bochum University of Applied Sciences. Today he is still working there, as a researcher and project organisator, besides involved in his PhD thesis.
Passion
Photography is for him like seeing with a third eye. Moments and situations can be brought to digital "paper" and hold on for eternity. Sven is not a typical photographer, as he has no idea about image build-up, and techniques.
But he is a technical enthusiast willing to improve his skills and learn to play with his camera and the equipment he possesses.
Photography has become a passion for him, even when he do not have much time to live out his hobby.
Photo Equipment
Sven came in contact with photography in 2004, when he bought his first digital camera, a KODAK Easyshare CX7330. In summer 2006 Sven got a Sony DSC H5 as a present for his birthday. As playing around with the Sony, being a very nice bridge camera brought the H5 to its limits and Sven decided to buy his first reflex camera in summer 2007, a Canon EOS 400D. In 2009 he switched to a Canon EOS 450D, as it was the change to "reset" the overall releases (at this time about 20.000) again to zero.
Currently, he is using the following equipment:
Canon EOS 450D
Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8
Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5,6 Di LD Macro 1:2
Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Aspherical IF MC Fish-eye
Canon EF-S 10-22mm F/3,5-4,5 USM
Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 - I love this one!
Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS F/3.5-5.6
Canon Speedlite 430EX
Panorama-Adapter
Some filters and additional "Traumflieger" Flashlights
